We built bidToGig to be a platform where people can work and hire with genuine confidence. A big part of that is making sure both Giggers and Posters feel protected at every step of a gig.
OUR CURRENT PROTECTIONS
Right now, bidToGig provides the following layer of financial and operational protection for every transaction on the platform:
Escrow payment protection:
Every gig on bidToGig is funded through secure escrow, powered by Stripe. The moment a Poster accepts a bid, the agreed funds are held securely — neither the Poster nor the Gigger can access them until the gig is confirmed complete. This means: - Posters are protected from paying for work that wasn't done. - Giggers are protected from completing work and not getting paid.
Fair cancellation framework:
If a gig falls apart after assignment, our Cancellation Policy ensures the responsible party bears an appropriate fee — not the innocent one. This discourages careless cancellations and compensates the affected party.
Identity-verified Giggers:
Every Gigger on bidToGig must pass a three-step verification process — email, phone, and government-issued photo ID with a live selfie. Posters can hire knowing they're dealing with a real, identified person.
Platform dispute review:
If something goes wrong — missed deadlines, disagreements over scope, payment holds — bidToGig's support team reviews the situation using messages, photos, and gig records to reach a fair outcome.
OPEN AND HONEST: THIRD-PARTY INSURANCE
We want to be upfront with you: bidToGig is a new and growing marketplace, and we do not currently carry third-party liability insurance for Giggers or Posters.
This is something we take seriously. As we grow our community and expand across Canada, introducing a third-party liability insurance product — similar to what established gig platforms offer — is firmly on our roadmap. When we get there, it will be here.
What this means for you right now:
- Giggers should ensure they have any personal liability or professional insurance appropriate to their trade or service type, particularly for activities involving property access, vehicles, or manual labour. - Posters should ensure they're comfortable with hiring an independent contractor for the task at hand. - For all gigs, BidToGig's escrow system ensures your money is protected — even if external insurance is not yet in place.
WHY WE'RE TELLING YOU THIS
We believe trust is built through honesty. Plenty of new platforms overstate their protections. We'd rather be transparent about where we are today — and show you through our actions that we're building toward something better. Every transaction on BidToGig is still protected by our escrow system, verified identity requirements, and dispute resolution team.
