Secure Payments & Escrow on bidToGig

Everything you need to know about how bidToGig keeps your money safe — from the moment a bid is accepted to the moment a Gigger gets paid.

At bidToGig, your money is never exposed to risk. Every dollar exchanged on the platform goes through our secure escrow system — funds are held by Stripe and released only when the work is confirmed complete.

HOW ESCROW WORKS

Escrow is the financial safety net at the heart of bidToGig. Here's the step-by-step:

1. A Poster posts a gig with a budget range. 2. A Gigger submits a bid within that range. 3. The Poster accepts the bid. 4. The Poster funds escrow — the agreed amount is charged to their card and held securely by Stripe. Neither party can access these funds yet. 5. The Gigger completes the work. 6. The Poster confirms completion — this triggers the release of funds. 7. The Gigger receives their payout, minus any applicable platform fee, directly to their connected Stripe bank account.

Why does escrow matter? - For Posters: you never pay a Gigger until you confirm the job is done to your satisfaction. - For Giggers: before you lift a finger, the money is already secured. No risk of chasing payment.

PLATFORM FEES

There is zero commission for Giggers on standard gigs. For high-value projects of $1,000+, bidToGig may apply a project success fee to support payment protection, dispute support, and platform operations. Posters are never charged a platform fee.

Example: A Gigger completes a $1,500 gig. bidToGig may apply a 10% project success fee ($150) to support payment protection, dispute support, and platform operations. The Gigger receives $1,350. The Poster pays only the agreed $1,500.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Life happens — but bidToGig's cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both sides.

Before a gig is assigned:

- Posters can edit, pause, or cancel a gig at any time for free. - Giggers can withdraw a bid at any time before it's accepted. - No fees apply.

After a gig is assigned (escrow funded):

A 14% cancellation fee applies to whichever party is responsible for the cancellation.

If the Poster cancels:

- A 14% cancellation fee is deducted from escrow. - Example: $500 gig cancelled by Poster → $70 fee → $430 refunded to Poster.

If the Gigger cancels:

- A 14% cancellation fee is charged against the Gigger's next payout. - Example: $800 gig cancelled by Gigger → $112 deducted from next payout.

Mutual cancellations:

If both parties agree to cancel and neither is primarily at fault, the 14% fee may be waived. bidToGig may request evidence before approving a mutual cancellation.

Extenuating circumstances:

In rare cases — government-declared emergencies, natural disasters, serious safety risks discovered after assignment — bidToGig may reduce or waive fees. Changing your mind, forgetting the schedule, or poor planning are not considered extenuating circumstances.

IMPORTANT: Repeated cancellations can result in warnings, reduced marketplace visibility, or account suspension.

HOW PAYOUTS WORK FOR GIGGERS

To receive payment, Giggers must connect a Stripe account linked to a Canadian bank account via Dashboard → Connect Stripe Account. After a Poster confirms completion, funds are processed and typically arrive within 2–5 business days.

All transaction history is visible in Dashboard → Payment History.

IS MY PAYMENT INFORMATION SAFE?

Yes. All card and banking details are processed and stored by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment provider. BidToGig never stores your full card number or bank credentials directly.
